Owen Warner of I’m A Celebrity pulls off a surprising “comeback” to beat Matt Hancock in the final

Owen Warner made a surprise ‘comeback’ on I’m A Celebrity, finishing ahead of Matt Hancock, despite entering the final as the third favorite. Many viewers of the program were pleased that Owen and Jill were in the final two rather than Matt. At the start of the new season, Hollyoaks actor Owen was in the middle of the pack in terms of winning odds, but only a few days ago, he had surpassed Jill Scott to become the bookies’ favorite.

However, when Owen was warned he might be going home on Friday after Seann Walsh was evicted, the soap star’s chances of winning plummeted substantially, to 10/1, while Hancock’s odds of winning the jungle decreased to 5/1. With the former Health Secretary having previously knocked off well-backed Mike Tindall to reach the final, many bookmakers felt he’d be a shoo-in to finish second, with a Hancock triumph not being ruled out.

But, in the end, Owen finished second behind eventual I’m A Celebrity winner Jill. The 23-year-old confessed he was astonished he’d reached the final before embarking on one last Bushtucker Trial in which he had to chow down on three courses of some rather dismal foods in order to earn three slap-up main feasts for himself and his remaining campmates.

I’m A Celebrity winner
