Liam Smith a dedicated father, was found dead on a quiet residential street after being shot and attacked with acid.
A Grieving family paid tribute to a “devoted dad” who was found dead at his home.
According to authorities, a “devoted parent” who was discovered dead in a quiet residential neighborhood was shot and attacked with acid. Liam Smith’s body was discovered on Kilburn Drive in Shevington, dumped, and “covered in the substance.” Detectives have opened a murder investigation. In a memorial statement released last night, the grieving family of the 38-year-old described him as “kind-hearted, funny, the life and soul of the party.”
Following a Home Office post-mortem assessment, police updated their investigation this morning, November 27, and revealed their preliminary conclusions. According to the preliminary information, the person suffered “a deadly gunshot wound and an acid assault.”
The murder occurred in “unusual and terrible circumstances on a peaceful residential street,” according to Greater Manchester Police, who said they are putting in a lot of effort to determine the specifics of the case. The scene is still in place with little interruption to the surrounding neighborhood, and inquiries are also being made into whether the incident is being investigated as a murder due to suspicious circumstances.
Following inspection and testing, it is thought that the dangerous compounds have been confined and do not now constitute a risk, threat, or damage to the local populace. However, anybody who was in close proximity to the corpse at the time is urged to talk with the police or get help right away from a doctor.
The general public is encouraged not to approach or make contact with anybody they believe to be connected to the offense. Instead, anybody with information is urged to get in touch with GMP if they see anything suspicious, especially between the hours of 8 am and 7 pm on Thursday on Kilburn Drive.
The investigation is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Gina Brennand from the GMP’s Major Incident Team. She stated:
“This is a terrible murder of a much-loved family father. This is the first fatal shooting in the Manchester area in more than two years, and we are determined to recover the weapon and find Liam’s killer. “I have a team of detectives working around the clock, and I urge anyone who has seen anything unusual or out of the ordinary close to the victim’s home during the day and early evening of Thursday, November 24, to contact the Major Incident Room.
Residents are asked not to be worried when they see specialist cops in the vicinity wearing protective clothes since this is simply preventative as per the regular protocol at the site. Specialized officers are taking measures around this occurrence.
Mr. Smith’s family released a short statement yesterday in his honor, saying:
“Liam was kind-hearted, funny, the life and soul of the party. He was the most devoted dad, much-loved son, brother, grandson and uncle. ” He will sorely be missed by all who knew and loved him”.
