The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office announced Monday dated July 12, 2021, those homicide charges are being investigated in the case of two North Carolina men accused of drugging and raping a Pennsylvania woman who was later discovered dead in her South Beach hotel room.

Collier and Taylor allegedly drugged and r*ped Englehardt before snatching her phone and credit cards on March 18th, according to investigators. The two males appear to have walked inside Englehardt’s hotel with her that night, according to surveillance footage.
Englehardt was found dead in her hotel room while on vacation in Miami Beach during Spring Break.
Englehardt died from “prone positioning while under the influence of Fentanyl and Ethanol,” according to a Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s report released on Monday.

According to the report, the guys gave Englehardt a green tablet that looked like oxycodone, and officers collected two green pills from them when they were arrested.
“The concentration of fentanyl detected is fatal. A component of positional asphyxia, with her face, forced down into soft bedding as a result of physical constraint and/or chemical impairment to assist sexual assault, cannot be ruled out,” according to the report.
In court hearings, detectives stated that the victim appeared unable to consent.
Collier and Taylor, who were in town for Spring Break and are college housemates, remained in custody without bail on Monday.
