Veteran ‘Mad Max’ Actor, Vincent Gil, passed away at 83

Vincent Gil was an Australian film and television actor best known for his portrayal of the character Nightrider in the 1979 film Mad Max, and Stone was born on born 17 August 1939. He also starred in many Australian television shows such as Matlock Police, Neighbours, A Country Practice, and Prisoner.

Mad Max star Vincent Gil aka The Nightrider dies at the age of 83 as co-star pays tribute

Australian Actor Vincent Gil best known for playing as The Nightrider in 1979’s Mad Max, has died recently.

His friend and co-star Paul Johnstone, who played Kundalini in that iconic film, confirmed the news on Facebook, sharing a recent photo of the two of them arm in arm. He captioned the image by saying, “Sadly, it is true… Vince Gil has left us. He has been very frail for quite some time and mercifully no longer needs to be constrained by his mortal form.”

Then his friend Paul went on to share one of his favorite memories involving his late friend, which took place during a tour of Japan in 2015.

Paul Johnstone recalled that “He was already in less than ideal health, and in opening day’s couple of us were concerned about his ability to get through long demanding days of the convention and socializing and travel and convention.”

Paul concluded his touching tribute to his late friend with a reference to a scene from his biggest movie, Mad Max. “Rest well old friend – we will remember you when we look at the night sky,” he wrote on Facebook on Sunday.
