Ashland Mayor, Richard Grauerholz, has passed away

Richard Grauerholz was a mayor of Ashland and a longtime fire department member. He died on Saturday.

Richard Grauerholz the city of Ashland’s current mayor, has passed away. Mayor Richard “Rick” Grauerholz passed suddenly on Friday night, according to the Ashland Volunteer Fire Department.

The fire department said,

Grauerholz was a long-time fire member and describes him as a “face of leadership across the entire state of Nebraska.”

police chief Joe Baudler said,

“One of the best supervisors I worked with. A very wise man who knew the town of Ashland very well and worked hard to take it in a positive direction,”.

Mayor Grauerholz served with the Ashland Fire Department for more than 40 years and retired from the Nebraska State Fire Marshals office after more than 30 years.

He also served as a part-time instructor at the Fire Marshal’s office.

Richard Grauerholz holds an American citizen and he belongs to the White race.
