Former Reporter/Law Professor, Philip Drucker, dies at 63

Drucker was a constitutional law professor, lecturer, and lawyer who mainly spoke on injustice and different topics of injustice. Mr. Drucker is an author and columnist writing the Today’s Rant political column for the LA Free Press.  He also routinely gives lectures and presentations on politics and the Constitution.

The majority of people were devastated to learn of his departure.

Philip’s Twitter account was where news of his passing first surfaced. His Twitter account detailed his passing and all of the good actions he had done up to that point.

Although the message only mentioned Philip’s passing, it did not include any other details regarding the circumstances behind Drucker’s death or his personal life.

After a life of eating healthy and working out regularly, Drucker last year was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer.

However, he had won against cancer and there have been no further reports of any other diseases.

Philip Drucker was 63 at the time of his death. He was born on November 17, 1958. He was a La Quinta resident for the past eight years and was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. The eldest of three, his parents were children of immigrant parents. His dad was very old-school European. He worked for the Department of Water and Power for 38 years, as a union guy.

At age 16, Drucker took up the guitar and later played in various bands. “It was in the 1980s,” he recalls, “in the post-punk scene. Through my 20s, I got paid for playing and got to tour Europe twice along with all over the U.S. and Canada.

Philip Drucker is an attorney who graduated from UCLA with a BA in Fine Art and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of La Verne. In 2001, his interest in helping people led him to education. Mr. Drucker devoted more and more time to the classroom where he continues to teach Constitutional Law at the California Desert Trial Academy in Indio, CA.

Always interested in politics, in 2014, Mr. Drucker ran for California State Senator, 28th District. He was the highest vote recipient for the Democratic party but did not win the seat.
