Ashley Jade Stern is the youngest of Howard Stern‘s three daughters, born on January 24,1993, and she has spent her adult life almost entirely outside the attention that surrounds her father. She took a degree in humanitarian services and went on to a doctorate in reading, writing and literacy from the University of Pennsylvania. The wedding was not small. It ran across three days at locations in New York State, took in a rehearsal dinner, the ceremony and a Sunday brunch with the Weinstein family, and had roughly 230 guests. Debra’s young daughter was the flower girl and forgot to scatter the petals, which became the story her grandfather told on air afterwards.

The event mattered for a reason beyond the marriage itself. Howard Stern had spent the pandemic years in near total isolation, broadcasting from home and avoiding crowds to a degree that became a running subject on his own show. For months beforehand he told listeners he was anxious about attending. He went. Afterwards he described being surrounded by people for the first time in years and said it made him feel like a human being again. He has been noticeably more willing to appear in public since.
