Oaklynn Koon died as a result of the bruising and injuries she sustained during the Kentucky tornado. She had a swelled head and was suspected of injuring her neck veins, which may have caused her to have a stroke.

Tornado in Kentucky- Death toll rises to 74

At least 74 people have died in Kentucky as a result of a weekend tornado outbreak that destroyed homes and businesses in the Midwest and South. The governor, Andy Beshear, told reporters that the death toll statistics came from disaster management officials and may differ from what county coroner’s report. At a news conference on Monday afternoon, the governor stated that the numbers will change because “we have numerous of our communities in the rubble.”

In addition to the deaths in Kentucky, 109 people are still missing, according to Beshear. According to officials, at least 14 individuals have been slain in four other states: six in Illinois, four in Tennessee, and two each in Arkansas and Missouri.

According to Beshear, 95 National Guard personnel are conducting fatality and missing person searches. Earlier, he described the devastation, claiming that more than 1,000 homes had been destroyed and that one tornado had reached at least 200 kilometers.

“When this tornado hit, it didn’t just take off a roof, as we’ve seen in the past,” Beshear explained. “It blew up the entire house. People, animals, and everything else had vanished.”
