MISSING The mother of Madalina Cojocari, 11, has been taken into custody by Cornelius Police.

Madalina was last seen in Cornelius, North Carolina, on November 23, but it wasn’t until December 15 that her disappearance was reported.

Police allege that Diana Cojocari, the girl’s mother, neglected to report her daughter missing.

She was taken into custody on Saturday at about 10:15 am, according to Cornelius Police.

At the moment, Diana is being detained at the Mecklenburg County Detention Facility.

Christopher Palmiter, the girl’s stepfather, was detained after waiting three weeks to report her missing. He is 60 years old.

The Mecklenburg County Detention Center also houses him.

On Thursday, the day Madalina was reported missing, Cornelius Police confirmed they had begun an inquiry into her disappearance.

Authorities are still looking through the girl’s North Carolina home

Police have started digging up the parents’ backyard to look for evidence, and the FBI has joined the search for the child.

On Friday, horrified neighbors observed as searches were conducted in the family’s property and home in an effort to gather information on Madalina’s disappearance.

The following day, Cornelius Police reported that Palmiter had been detained on suspicion of failing to inform authorities of a child’s disappearance.

According to his LinkedIn page, Palmiter is employed by the maker of industrial machinery Ingersoll Rand as a mechanical designer.

If anything significant was discovered throughout their investigation, Cornelius Police have not made that claim official.

Authorities have nonetheless stated that they are still hunting for her and are requesting any information from the public.

According to the police, Madalina is about 90 pounds, 4 feet 10 inches tall, and has brown eyes.

The 11-year-last old’s known attire included a white t-shirt, white pants, pink, purple, and white Adidas shoes, as well as a jacket.
