Dean Rakesh Khurana also referred to Ballstad as “brilliant and friendly” and “passionate about science and the outdoors” in an email sent to Harvard students on Tuesday. Eric Beerbohm, Leslie J. Duhaylongsod, and Nicole S. Simon Balstad, the resident dean, all cited a “beloved” student who “brings Warmth and tremendous generosity” in their praises.
The House president wrote,
“Our hearts are broken. “We are honored to say that Luke was a part of our Quincy College community. He had a tight group of friends while attending Harvard. For all of us, his passing is a loss. A community gets together to mourn and share strength through trying times.
