Kim Wanous would remain at WAKA until 1995 when he joined crosstown WSFA-12 for a 16-year tenure. Now, folks across central Alabama are mourning the loss of Wanous. Wanous died Wednesday morning, according to his relatives.
According to WSFA, he had recently been hospitalized with COVID-19 but was at home when he died. In a statement to WSFA-12, the Wanous family praised the neighborhood “for loving and trusting him to convey the news into their homes for over four decades. He sincerely loved serving his community and getting to know the people of central Alabama. Please keep us in your prayers during this difficult time.”
