NHDP Trainee, Bill Wolfson Lianie, 14, dies of Brain Hemorrhage

The National Hockey Development Programme (NHDP) trainee passed at a very young age while undergoing the training camp in Ipoh, Perak, today. The goalkeeper’s clinic is one of the support events for the upcoming Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. Bill Wolfson Lianie age 14, hails from SMK Penrissen, Kuching, and Sarawak.

Bill Wolfson Lianie, 14, comes from SMK Penrissen, Kuching, Sarawak has died during his training routine Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) reported Bill who plays a goalkeeper, took a short shower with his teammates before complaining about being uneasy.

Later he went too fainted in his room. Bill was transferred to an ambulance, and CPR was performed in him. He was taken to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital at Ipoh where he was declared dead.  The cause of death has not been confirmed.  Bill was one of the trainees for the two-day MHC-AHF-Perak HA goalkeeper’s clinic, which kicked off on Saturday, at the Raja Ashman Shah Academy in Ipoh.  Sarawak state coach Wilina Mac Carina Wilson was at the clinic.

NFDP officials have informed Bill’s family, and his body will be taken to the Kuching.  MHC president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal and Perak HA president Sayuti Abdul Samat, who were at the hospital have also expressed their condolences to Bill’s family and friends.
