Colangelo formerly worked for the Department of Justice and the New York Attorney General’s office, where he was a member of the group that looked into the now-defunct Trump Foundation.
The NYAG was headed by Colangelo in its resistance to the Trump administration’s plans to include a citizenship question on the census. Colangelo will concentrate on “the office’s most sensitive and high-profile white-collar investigations,” according to Bragg, at the district attorney’s office. He will also focus on cases, policies, and strategies in the areas of housing and tenant protection, labor and worker protection, and housing.
