Teofimo Lopez, a former lineal, WBA, IBF, and WBO lightweight champion, will now focus on the junior welterweight division, starting with a scheduled ten-round fight with Pedro Campa of Mexico. For the ESPN-televised main event that will take place Saturday night at Resorts World Las Vegas, both competitors made weight.

Lopez achieved the latter achievement, winning Fighter of the Year honors, which will be the objective through 2023. For the time being, the 24-year-old star must familiarize himself with the ring and a weight class at which he has competed just twice in his six-year pro career.

Campa (34-1-1, 23KOs) moves up in weight for his second bout in the United States after spending his whole career at junior welterweight or heavier. The battle between the 30-year-old from Hermosillo, Mexico, and the former four-division champion Adrien Broner never happened last February. Since then, he has claimed three victories, including the third-round knockout of unbeaten Carlos Sanchez on March 19.
