Elijah Memusi, the MP for Kajiado Central, has lost his wife Stella Memusi, who died in a tragic road accident, according to police.
In the collision, Stella Memusi perished on the spot, while the driver of the ill-fated vehicle escaped with just minor injuries.
On Monday night, May 30, 2022, a horrific crash occurred along the Nairobi Namanga route, just past Isinya town.
Stella was on her way to their Kajiado home when the accident occurred, according to Kajiado police commander Muthuri Mwongera.
The accident occurred when KBT 872A, the car in which Kajiado Central MP’s wife was traveling, collided with a stalled stationary trailer.
According to the police chief, the ill-fated automobile was on its way to Kajiado via Isinya.
“The deadly accident, which occurred at approximately 23:10 a.m., was sad. It’s a tragic situation. I wish to encourage all road users to take personal responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others. If a car stalls on the road, it is wise and required that you post road signs warning other vehicles of impending danger. It is impolite and inhumane to simply leave a vehicle on the road, putting other road users in danger, especially at night when visibility is poor “Mwongera explained.
When the collision happened, the stalled trailer had no occupants and no warning road signs, according to police documents.
The vehicle hit the trailer’s left side extensively damaging it. The driver was rushed to Kajiado referral hospital for treatment.
The two vehicles were towed to the Isinya police station and the body was taken to the Kajiado referral hospital mortuary.
