On July 13, Guevara teamed up with MJF and Shawn Spears to defeat Darby Allin, Jimmy Havoc, and Joey Janela in a six-man tag team match at Fight for the Fallen.
Guevara was defeated by Cody on the debut episode of AEW Dynamite on October 2. After the bout, Guevara shook hands with Cody before being severely attacked from behind in front of him by AEW World Champion Chris Jericho. Guevara solidified his heel status later that night when he aided AEW World Champion Chris Jericho, Jake Hager (who made his AEW debut), Santana, and Ortiz in attacking Cody, The Young Bucks, and Cody’s half-brother Dustin Rhodes. Later that night, Jericho described Guevara as a “Spanish God.” That quickly became his moniker. Guevara would start a feud with Darby Allin in 2020, while also supporting Jericho in his rivalries and title defends. Guevara was defeated by Allin at Revolution on February 29, 2020. The Inner Circle and The Elite were scheduled to meet in a Blood and Guts match on the March 25 episode of AEW, however, the COVID-19 outbreak forced AEW to postpone the contest.
Guevara would then compete in an inaugural AEW TNT Champion tournament. In the first round of the event, he was defeated by Allin once more.
