Rozana Sani, an ex-NST employee, passes away

At 7:08 this morning, Rozana Sani, 53, a former associate editor for the New Straits Times, passed away from cancer at the Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital.

Prior to joining the education vertical in 2014, she began working for the company in 1994 as a technology journalist for Computimes. She adopted the company’s mutual separation policy in 2019. (MSS).

Rozana is survived by her husband Arman Shah, as well as by their two kids, Sofea Amira and Ikmal Hisham.

She would be buried this afternoon in Cheras’ Alam Damai Muslim cemetery.

“She was a caring, generous and beautiful soul who always made time for her friends and family. Smart, and witty with a good sense of humor, she always sees the positive side of any person or situation. She has been a good friend to many,” said a friend who has known since her teenage years at Tunku Kurshiah College in Seremban, Negri Sembilan.

“We have just lost a good writer. She was very talented in writing and her experience in covering the tech industry was an added advantage when she moved to the education desk at a time when Malaysia’s education system was transforming digitally,” said former NST education vertical editor Hazlina Aziz.
