Romina was ‘on a respirator and her health is severe,’ medics told the Argentine newspaper La Nacion on Tuesday.
When Romina traveled to the UK to spearhead attempts to locate her brother’s remains after a plane he was on crashed in the English Channel, she had already established herself as the family’s de-facto spokesman.

Emiliano, a 28-year-old striker, was traveling from Nantes, France, to Cardiff, Wales, on January 21 to complete a £15 million transfer between teams when his jet crashed near Guernsey.
For two weeks, search teams were unsuccessful in finding the wreck, until it was discovered on February 8 by a private expedition paid for by the family. Emiliano’s body was discovered inside the wrecked plane, and he was sent back to Argentina to be buried.
Pilot David Ibbotson’s body is still not found.
Following Emiliano’s death, Romina also lost her father, Horacio, who died three months after the plane disaster at his house in Progreso.
According to local sources from the time, Horacio, 58, died of a heart attack in his bed, having ‘never gotten over the murder of his son.
The new tragedy comes as the Sala family is pursuing legal action against 13 defendants, including Cardiff City FC, FC Nantes, football agents Willie and Mark McKay, and different companies associated with the plane, in a lawsuit filed in March.

Sala died on January 21, 2019, after a single-engine Piper Malibu plane carrying the 28-year-old striker crashed into the sea north of Guernsey.
