Jenny Vogel, his manager, told NPR that he died “peacefully at his home in Switzerland on Sunday evening from various protracted illnesses.” Lupu’s renditions of Schubert, Brahms, Mozart, Beethoven, and Bartok, among other composers, were widely praised by fellow musicians as an inspiration and model of artistic expression.
