Putri Ariani, a 17-year-old Indonesian singer, gained worldwide fame almost immediately after her America’s Got Talent (AGT) audition where she left Fans and Judges in TEARS over a show-stopping performance. Her name began to be known since participating in the 2014 Indonesia’s Got Talent competition and won the position of the winner.

Putri auditioned for America’s Got Talent (Season 18) during the second week. In her audition, she performed her original song titled “Loneliness” for her first performance. Afterward, Putri was approached by Simon Cowell and given the opportunity to sing “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word” popularized by Elton John for her second performance. At the end of her performance, Putri received the Golden Buzzer from Simon, automatically advancing her to the next round of America’s Got Talent, Season 18.

Putri Armani was born Prematurely

When Putri was born, she was not fully developed and had to stay in a Special bed at the hospital for three months. This was because her mother had a condition called placenta previa.

After leaving the hospital, it was discovered that Putri had a problem with her eyes called cataracts. Her parents took her to Singapore for treatment, but the surgery on her right eye did not work. When Putri was three months old, it was determined that she was completely blind.

Putri Ariani was born on December 31, 2005, in Bangkinang, Indonesia. She is the oldest of three children in her family. Her parents are Ismawan Kurnianto and Reni Alfianty. Putri has two younger sisters named Devina Elysia and Vania Larissa.

Putri discovered her talent for singing when she was only two years old. She enjoyed imitating the sounds she heard and developed a passion for music.

Later, Putri is attending SMK Negeri 2 Kasihan, also known as the Yogyakarta Music Middle School (SMM) in Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. She specializes in playing the flute as her main instrument. Additionally, she was chosen to be a solo singer for an SMM concert.

Seventeen-year-old Indonesian singer, Putri Ariani, achieved worldwide fame shortly after her audition on America’s Got Talent (AGT), leaving the judges and audience stunned. Her exceptional performance earned her the highly coveted Golden Buzzer from renowned judge Simon Cowell, propelling her to instant international recognition.

Undeterred by her impairment, Putri showcased her remarkable musical talents by playing the piano and singing during the televised auditions of the reality show. Her passion for music and determination propelled her into popular culture, marking the beginning of her flourishing music career.

When asked by the judges about her aspirations, she confidently expressed her dream of becoming the world’s greatest diva, akin to the likes of Whitney Houston and winning a Grammy Award. Furthermore, she revealed her hope to attend the renowned performing arts institute, Juilliard, for her college education.

Following her response, Putri delivered a captivating performance of her original song, “Loneliness,” which earned her a standing ovation from both the judges and the audience. Impressed by her talent, Simon Cowell joined her on stage, requesting a second song. Once again, Putri mesmerized everyone with her rendition of Elton John’s timeless ballad,

“Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word.”

“You’re only 17. You write songs and possess a remarkable, distinctive voice,” praised Cowell. He acknowledged her audition as “really, really good” and emphasized her radiant presence. Overwhelmed by her talent, he pressed the Golden Buzzer, propelling Putri to the season finale.

Cowell commended Putri, stating,

“I believe you are one of the best singers we’ve ever had on our show.” When asked about his choice to activate the Golden Buzzer, he simply responded, “Because she’s brilliant.”

The video of Putri’s audition quickly went viral, trending on Twitter and capturing the attention of Sung Kim, the American ambassador to Indonesia. He extended his congratulations to Putri for her astounding performance in the United States, praising her as an incredible talent.

Putri Ariani’s musical Journey Explored

Putri began her career in the entertainment industry by participating in a talent search competition, Indonesia’s Got Talent, Season 2, which was aired on SCTV in 2014. In the Result Show, which was broadcast live from Balai Sarbini, Plaza Semanggi, Jakarta on July 19, 2014, Putri performed the song “My Heart Will Go On” by Céline Dion. She received the highest number of SMS votes and won the title. As the winner, she received a cash prize of 500 million Indonesian Rupiah.

In 2016, Putri received an award at the Anugerah Baiduri as an accomplished young singer at the national level. In the same year, she achieved second place at the national level of the FLS2N literacy competition and became a finalist on The Voice Kids Indonesia (Season 2). Putri is skilled in playing the piano and has composed several songs. She frequently develops her work on her personal YouTube channel and released her debut album titled “Melihat Dengan Hati” (Seeing with the Heart).

When Indonesia was selected to host the 2018 Asian Para Games, Putri had the opportunity to perform the song “Song of Victory” at the opening ceremony of the Asian disability sports event to inspire disabled athletes.
