Muhammad Khan, was Arrested after alleged attempt to grab Queen’s coffin

After grabbing the Royal Standard with both hands yesterday night, Muhammad Khan, 28, was tackles to the ground by police.

In front of shocked mourners, a man rushed to the Queen’s coffin and grabbed the flag. He has since been charged. After grabbing the Royal Standard with both hands yesterday night, Muhammad Khan, 28, was thrown to the ground by police.

Live broadcasts of the coffin were interrupted for almost fifteen minutes before police in Westminster Hall hurriedly removed him out of sight.

Khan, a resident of Tower Hamlets in London, was charged today with violating Section 4A of the Public Order Act by acting in a way that was intended to create alarm, harassment, or distress. He will make his court appearance on Monday, the day of the Queen’s funeral, while being held in Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

One witness told The Sun: “We thought someone had fainted and then we heard someone shriek. “Someone got up to the coffin, grabbed the flag and pulled it upwards. “They picked up the bottom and wafted it, almost to see what was underneath. It happened so fast.”
