Sadly, her parents divorced when she was three years old, and later her mother got married to Miroslav Navratil who was a coach by his profession and he also trained Martina as her first coach. Furthermore, she has a sister named Jana who is younger than her, and also a half-brother.

Navratilova is regarded as one of the all-time great players since she held the No. 1 slot in the world rankings in both singles and doubles for a combined total of 332 weeks and 237 weeks, respectively. In singles, same-sex doubles, and mixed doubles, she is one of only three tennis players to have completed a career Grand Slam.
