Murder and assault charges filed against Marcos Vallejos after store worker found dead

Following the discovery of a dead store employee in Greeley, Marcos Vallejos was detained on suspicion of murder and s*xual assault. Angelica Vega, a 22-year-old lady, was discovered dead in a car’s trunk. Just after 10:30 p.m., police discovered Vega’s body in the trunk of a car near 71st Avenue and 20th Street after she had been reported missing. Indicted with first-degree murder and sexual assault, Marcos Vallejos was apprehended and is currently being held at the Weld County Jail.

Following allegations of suspicious activity at the store, police were called to Noco Nutrition on 59th Avenue just before 8 o’clock. When they arrived, they discovered Vega, who was meant to close the business, and what appeared to be a break-in. The store was in disorder when the police arrived, and there was what appeared to be a lot of blood on the ground.

Also missing was Vega’s vehicle. A little more than two hours later, Greeley police discovered the victim’s car parked at or close to a Kum & Go convenience store at 71st Avenue and 20th Street, roughly a mile to the west of NOCO Nutrition, where police had earlier discovered the woman’s body in the trunk of her parked car. Her cause of death and exact method of passing has not yet been disclosed. The owner of a business next to Noco Nutrition, Awnya Bowie, is trying to raise money to support the Vega family during this trying time.
