He suggested that the manager search the employee at the restaurant, or that the police be dispatched to pick her up and question her at the station. Later, Stewart was determined to be innocent.
He was exonerated of all charges related to the case on October 31, 2006.
In 2005, the world’s attention was drawn to the stunning surveillance video and dreadful tale. A jury in Bullitt County, Kentucky awarded Louise $1.1 million in compensatory damages and expenses in addition to $5 million in punitive damages.
