She was a member of the R & B girl group TLC, alongside Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas.
Lisa Left Eye lopes died on April 25, 2002, after suffering a fatal injury because of a car accident in La Ceiba, Honduras.
On April 25, 2002, Lopes was driving a rented Mitsubishi Montero SUV in La Ceiba, Honduras, when she swerved slightly to avoid a truck then sharply to the left as she tried to avoid an oncoming car. The vehicle rolled several times after hitting two trees, throwing Lopes and three others out of the windows, and finally coming to rest in a ditch at the side of the road.
She was traveling with her brother and sister with two of her producers and three people from a group named Egypt. Her autopsy revealed that she died instantly of a fracture of the base of the cranium and open cerebral trauma. She was the only person to die in the fatal accident.
Lisa Lopes was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 27, 1971. At the time of her death, she was 30 years old. Wanda Denise, a seamstress, is her mother, and Ronald Lopes Sr, a US Army staff sergeant, is her father. Her parents had more than one child.
