John Van de Putte, the father of year 9 student Lily, told the ABC he doesn’t “bear any grudges” against the 18-year-old P-plater. “We don’t hold any judges against the driver because he is going to go through hell,” he told ABC on Wednesday.

Five youngsters aged between 14 and 16 were killed on Tuesday night after the vehicle plowed into a tree in Buxton just before 8 pm on Tuesday night. Antonio Desisto and Tyrese Bechard have been named as the two lads who lost their lives in the crash.

The three girls have been named as Summer Williams, Lily van De Putte and Gabby McLennan. The driver and sole survivor Tyrell Edwards, 18, was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and sent to Liverpool hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. NSW Police say the 18-year-old was released from the hospital and apprehended in Bargo at about 1:50 pm on Wednesday.

He was subsequently transported to Narellan Police Station where he is aiding police with inquiries. “An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash continues and police are seeking for anyone with dashcam footage or social media to come forward,” a spokeswoman tweeted.
