In 1996, Klaus started his career as a drummer in Tangerine Dream. In 1970 he left the group and formed “Ash Ra Tempel”. And again left to perform solo. In 1972, he released his debut album Irrlicht with organ and a recording of an orchestra. He claims more than 40 original albums to his name since Irrlicht.
In the 1980s, Schulze started using digital instruments. Another highlight of this era was En=Trance with the dreamy cut “FM Delight”. The album “Mediterranean Pads” marked the beginning of very complex percussion arrangements that continued through the next two decades. In 1989, the German band Alphaville released the album “The Breathtaking Blue” where Klaus was a musician and the album’s producer.
He released his solo album “Lisa Gerrard” in 2005. In September 2010, the release of his 14th album “Big in Japan: Live in Tokyo 2010”. In 2013 he release 2 albums, “Shadowlands” in February and “The Schulze–Schickert Session 1975” in March. After that, he announced that he would not be performing live on stage anymore.
