Jorja Halliday, of Portsmouth, died four days after receiving a positive PCR test result at the Queen Alexandra Hospital.

Tracey Halliday, the GCSE student’s mother, described her as a “lovely daughter, brilliant kickboxer, and aspiring musician.”

Because she was isolated, Jorja had canceled her vaccination appointment.

Ms. Halliday described her daughter’s death as “heartbreaking,” but she thanked medical personnel for doing “all they could to rescue her.”

Jorja had flu-like symptoms the weekend before she died, according to her.

She did a PCR test and got a positive result, so she started isolating at home on Saturday, September 25.

Jorja’s symptoms worsened, and she couldn’t eat because her throat hurt by Monday, at which time she was prescribed antibiotics.

Ms. Halliday claimed her daughter’s condition deteriorated, and when she was visited by a doctor, her heart rate was “twice what it should have been,” so she was taken to the hospital.

“They realized how serious it was, so I was still permitted to touch her, hold her hand, embrace her, and do whatever else I wanted,” she explained. “They did let me do that.” I’m at a loss for words as to how this could have happened. “I stayed with her the entire time.”

Jorja was put on a ventilator to help her body recuperate, but her heart rate didn’t stabilize and she “couldn’t bear the strain,” according to Ms. Halliday.

Ms. Halliday stated that her daughter had no underlying medical issues.

Jorja developed Covid myocarditis, which is cardiac inflammation caused by the virus, according to preliminary data obtained after she was brought to the hospital.
