Before Monday’s council meeting, Sparks Mayor Ed Lawson revealed that John Ascauga, passed away in the early morning hours of June 28, 2021. He was 96 years old when he died.
The cause of death for John Ascuaga has yet to be determined. He could have died as a result of natural causes or an accident. For the time being, his family is delaying speaking to the media.
Mayor Ed Lawson issued the statement on John’s death saying, “Everyone here at the city of Sparks is saddened to hear of the passing of John Ascuaga. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and the many, many in our community who knew and loved him. I was very privileged to have served with him on the Sparks Rotary Club for several years.”

I am so sorry for the passing of Rose last year and John this year. I dated John Jr back in the 80s and knew the family well as we all went to school together. Sad how we have loss a lot of people who made our state what it is . God received good soul first Rose and John , now he is with Rose . Amen
