When Jay Light was executive dean for administration during Light’s tenure, Angela Crispi remarked, “Jay came at the recession like the expert he was.”

Jay was the first faculty member to receive the new Excellence in Teaching Award for his work in the first-year MBA Program only two years into his appointment.
He loved interacting with students as much as they loved learning from him, and this relationship lasted long after they graduated. Many people credit Light with having the biggest impact on their HBS experience and careers.
