The verdict was delivered by Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Jacquelyn M. Kasulis and Peter C. Fitzhugh, Special Agent-in-Charge, Homeland Security Investigations, New York (HSI).

Acting U.S. Attorney Kasulis remarked, “Today’s guilty judgment forever marks R. Kelly as a predator, who exploited his celebrity and riches to prey on the young, the vulnerable, and the voiceless for his own sexual satisfaction.” “A predator who ensnared underage adolescent girls, as well as young women and men, in a web of sex abuse, exploitation, and humiliation for decades using his inner circle. Your voices were heard, and justice was ultimately delivered to the victims in this case. We hope that the victims will find some relief and closure as a result of today’s decision.”

At trial, the evidence included testimony from 45 government witnesses, including more than ten victims, five of whom are identified in the superseding indictment, text messages, video and audio recordings, pictures, phone and travel records, DNA evidence, and expert witnesses.
