TRIBUTES have been paid to a “caring” young father who died when a tree fell on his pickup during Storm Eunice and killed him.
Jack Bristow, 23, was one of four tragic victims of Friday’s killer 122mph winds, which left a trail of destruction and thousands without power in Alton, Hampshire. The father-of-one was in the passenger seat of the Mercedes-Benz pick-up when a 40-foot tree fell on the cab.
The driver was brought to the hospital with significant injuries, but Jack died just before noon.
The “kind” and “wonderful” young father, who was renowned for “always having a smile on his face,” has received heartfelt condolences.

Jack’s girlfriend Courtney Emmett wrote: “Please God bring my love back to me. I love you, Jack.”
She added: “It’s all still so very raw.”
“Not what I wanted to wake up to this morning, a very good friend for years taken by the storm yesterday!” one buddy commented on social media. The word “shock” doesn’t even come close to describing how I felt.
“Jack…you helped me in a dark place and I will forever be grateful to you! Rest in peace.”
“It’s difficult to find the correct things to say,” another buddy remarked. Jack Bristow had a perpetual grin on his face.
And a third wrote about the much-loved trucker: “Hearing of the passing of Jack Bristow truly gutted to hear of this news.
“Jack worked for me for a while and was a good worker and a great kid. Also a good family friend.
“My thoughts and prayers go to the whole family mum and dad, friends, and his little son.”
In honor of the youngster who was “loved by everyone, he encountered,” Jack’s family and friends have set up a GoFundMe page.
At least three other people perished as a result of yesterday’s chaos caused by Eunice’s gale-force winds.
