Ivan Leow, a co-founder of Triton Poker, unexpectedly passed away at the age of 39.

Ivan Leow, 39, the co-founder of Triton Poker, tragically passed away on Saturday, September 17, from what appeared to be a heart attack. Leow passed away amid the incredibly prosperous Triton Cyprus. All Triton Cyprus events that were still scheduled to take place between September 5 and September 19 have been canceled in order to give everyone there the chance to “mourn his departure together.”

“Ivan was a hugely popular member of the Triton family. He was warm, generous, and enormous fun both at the tables and off – a loyal friend to us all. He was also a fantastic poker player, with a lifelong passion for the game,” Triton Poker said in a statement.

“Ivan was a very special person, who lived life to the full, was always smiling, and loved the game of poker. He will be sincerely missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.”

Leow’s lifetime tournament earnings as of 2015 were slightly over $13.1 million, according to The Hendon Mob. In Malaysia, he now ranks third in terms of total earnings, just ahead of Richard Yong and Paul Phua.

In the Merit Poker Super High Roller Bowl Europe in August 2021, Leow finished second to Wiktor Malinowski and earned his highest payout of $2.46 million. Leow won an astonishing $5,691,986 in tournament play in 2018, and less than two months after winning the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Russia Super High Roller for $1,133,555, he took down the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe €100,000 Leon’s High Roller for $1,422,140.
