Dawkins, a woman with severe dementia, vanished in the early hours of Wednesday in the 2700 block of Blockhouse Court. She has been missing for more than six days. At around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dawkins was spotted leaving her house on foot from the 2700 block of Blockhouse Court. According to reports, Dawkins’ doorbell video captured him leaving the house before trying to reenter. Later, a doorbell camera on the 2900 block of Cloverwood Drive captured a picture of her. However, this time her face was covered in blood, suggesting that she may have been injured. Later, a runner reported seeing Dawkins on the Greenway close to Deep River Road.

Dozens of volunteers and family members searched the area around the 1600 block of Penny Road, close to a residence where Dawkins was seen on security footage. Police officers and volunteers also handed out flyers door-to-door to make sure more people knew what Dawkins looks like in the hopes of finding a lead, but nothing was found. However, the investigators believe they have located a body that matches Dawkins. however, confirmation will only come if a test confirms that it is indeed her.
