He was employed by the Waldorf Astoria’s Marco Polo lounge. In 1964, Briguet and his business partner Willy Krause acquired the eatery, but they didn’t stop there.
At Park Avenue and East 63rd Street, they opened Le Périgord Park, a sister restaurant, in 1969; it closed its doors in 1985. They opened La Reserve in Rockefeller Center with Jean-Louis Missed in 1983 which closed in 2000. But An employee sued the restaurant for unpaid wages in 2015, the same year Briguet entered a guilty plea to federal tax charges. The restaurant was shut down by Briguet after an impasse with the union representing restaurant employees.
