According to the announcement, Ozuna, also struck the woman with his cast-covered arm. To the announcement, he was apprehended “without further incident” and lodged into the Fulton County Jail, according to authorities, he is being charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and violence under the Domestic Violence Act.
According to the announcement, the woman suffered evident injuries but was not transported to the hospital.
CNN has reached out to Ozuna’s lawyer for comment.
The Atlanta Braves announced in a statement Saturday evening that they were informed of Ozuna’s detention “immediately” and “promptly informed the Commissioner’s Office.”
“The Braves firmly support Major League Baseball’s domestic violence policy, which emphasizes that domestic abuse in any form cannot and will not be tolerated in our society. We will have no further comment until the inquiry is concluded, and any questions about the matter should be directed to the Office of the Commissioner.”
