The oldest man in Australia, Frank Mawer, has died at the age of 110

Frank Mawer was known as the older man of Australia and was 110 years old.

Mawer, Australia’s oldest man, contracts COVID-19 and passes away at age 110.

On Saturday afternoon on the New South Wales South Coast, Mr. Mawer “peacefully” passed away in his sleep at his Central Tilba home, according to members of a home care team from HammondCare who were there to support him.

Prior to moving to the South Coast to be with his son, Philip, after a fall, Mr. Mawer lived freely in his own flat at Gymea in Sydney’s south until November of last year.

Along with the personnel from HammondCare, Philip and his boyfriend Stuart served as his primary caregivers.

Barry, his second son, claimed that after contracting COVID-19 a few weeks ago, his father became weak.

“He lived life to the full even in recent months,” Barry said. Frank insisted on sitting up for meals, he did his exercises every day and had plenty of visitors.

“He went to have his afternoon nap on Saturday afternoon and never woke up.

Mike Baird, CEO of HammondCare, described Mr. Mawer as “the most motivating man.”
