Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 12.30 pm on Tuesday 16 August 2022, Greater Manchester Police received a request for assistance from North West Ambulance Service following reports of an injured 22-year-old female reported to be unresponsive at a property on Watson Street in the Manchester city center.

” Officers attended the scene, and it was quickly evident the woman had been stabbed. A 44-year-old guy was arrested at the site on suspicion of a section 18 assault and charged with wounding with intent to commit serious bodily harm. ” Sadly, the 22-year-old woman recently passed away and her family is being helped by specially trained officers.

Kevin Mannion of Watson Street, Manchester has now been charged with assault with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm to the 22-year-old woman and appeared at Manchester Magistrates Court on Friday 19 August 2022 and was remanded into custody.”
