Actress and comedian Edith Marie McClurg hail from the USA. She is a former member of The Groundlings and has appeared in supporting parts in the movies Carrie, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Elvira: Mistress of the Dark.
Actress Edie McClurg from the film Ferris Bueller was abused by a “friend,” according to a cousin.
Legal records obtained by The Times reveal that “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” star Edie McClurg and her caregiver were reportedly abused by a man who claimed to be their “longtime friend.”
The “Life in Pieces” actor Angelique Cabral accused Michael L. Ramos of taking advantage of her cousin and a JFS Care home-health worker in July. Ramos was given permission to live in McClurg’s house as her companion. McClurg suffers from dementia.
Ramos was initially given permission by the court to stay in McClurg’s house because the court felt “he would provide her with companionship.” The ex parte petition, which was filed on July 15, stated that Cabral, who is the conservator of McClurg’s estate, “had been suspicious of Mr. Ramos’ objectives since the beginning as she observed him incorporate himself into the Conservatee’s life while she was battling dementia.”
Ramos “was able to finagle his way” inside McClurg’s house, according to the records. Ramos allegedly came close to removing McClurg from California to wed her before the court intervened, according to Cabral. According to the petition, McClurg and Ramos “have never been involved in a romantic connection.”
JFS Caregiver
The JFS caregiver for McClurg, according to Cabral, “had made both verbal and written reports that she had been sexually assaulted by Mr. Ramos in the Conservatee’s home on more than one occasion.” According to the petition, the caretaker has subsequently made a report to the Los Angeles Police Department and has video proof of Ramos’ activities.
The JFS worker also expressed concern to Cabral about Ramos “assaulting the Conservatee and that she may not even know that is happening to her.”
At the time the petition was submitted, Cabral had hired security guards but had not yet given them the order to stop Ramos from entering the house. Cabral submitted a declaration on July 25 asking for a “Protected Elder Temporary Restraining Order” against Ramos, less than a week after submitting the petition.
Cabral also asked the court to schedule a hearing for no later than August 15.
For her role as Grace in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” McClurg is most recognized. Among many other films, her additional credits include “Frozen,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” and “Carrie.” Due to McClurg’s dementia, the actor’s family requested a conservatorship in February 2019.
