The council described Harrington as “a dedicated public servant” who is also “a true statesman, policymaker, selfless community builder, and strong advocate for improving the quality of life for Prince Georgians and Marylanders” in a joint statement. The county’s Chamber of Commerce praised their former president as well. The chamber stated in a statement that David was “liked, respected, and revered throughout the region.”
“The Chamber shares the grief of his family, the people of Prince George’s County, the local companies, and the general public at his passing. Although we are devastated, we will carry on with his purpose of excellence, service, advocacy, policy advice, mentoring, and leadership as a company. Additionally, he was a licensed minister. According to the council, David Harrington “made an enduring investment in Prince Georgians’ lives.” As we recall, we are appreciative of a job well done.
