Tormenta FC 2 defender, David Carter Payne, 21, dies in a fatal car accident

David Carter Payne was a Tormenta FC 2 defender who lost his life as  Tormenta FC 2 announced and tributed to the late player.

Carter Payne was involved in a vehicle accident on July 8, 2022, where he was driving an electric scooter and was hit by a vehicle that was announced by his Team management of Tormenta FC.

According to Statesboro Police, David Carter Payne was struck by a car on Fair Road around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday while he was riding a Lime electric scooter near Food World and heading toward the Georgia Southern campus side of the road.

It was revealed that he was in the emergency care unit at savannah memorial hospital and now it has been announced that he has died from injuries he sustained in the accident.

Late Saturday night, the team issued the following statement: The terrible passing of Tormenta FC 2 defender David Carter Payne leaves South Georgia Tormenta FC with great sorrow. Today, July 9, Carter went away. Payne was a fantastic athlete, comrade, and friend who played for Tormenta FC 2’s 2022 USL League Two squad.

He will be sadly missed by all those associated with the club. Following an automobile and pedestrian accident in Statesboro, Georgia, Carter was admitted to Memorial Health: Southeast Georgia Hospital.
