Clu Gulager was an American actor, director, and producer best known for his work on the NBC television series “The Virginian” in the 1970s.

The actor’s son confirmed the news on Facebook, and his daughter-in-law Diane Goldner issued a statement where they confirmed his death. She stated that the actor died while “surrounded by his loving family.”

Sean Baker, the director, also posted about the actor’s death. “RIP Clu Gulager,” he wrote on Twitter. “In 2016, I had the honor of working with the legend in Tangerine and on a fashion shoot for V Magazine.” He was incredibly gifted, as well as hilarious, gentle, and kind. And he adored her.

Clu Gulager was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma on November 16, 1928. He was 93 years old when he died. He was the son of a lawyer and former actor John Delancy Gulager of Muskogee, Oklahoma. his mother was  Martha Schrimsher Gulag and Will Rogers’ mother, Mary Schrimsher, is a sister of  Martha Schrimsher Gulager, so the two are first cousins.
