A former mayor of Peterborough claimed to be the longest-serving councilor in the UK, has died at the age of 92. His family said Mr. Swift, who died after a short illness, was a “true gentleman”.

His son Paul said: “Our family has been incredibly honored to have had such a terrific man in our life and we shall miss dad tremendously. ” Peterborough has lost such a great gentleman.”
