Brian Kozera was a seasoned police officer and a cancer survivor who lost his life aged 44 while training for the Ironman. His death has left the whole Pennsylvania town grieving. He was a cop and worked with the Norristown Police Department for 16 years, where he served as a Use of Force teacher. As reported by Yahoo Finance, he was riding his bike on Saturday morning and ran a stop sign. Then he hit the passenger sign of a pickup vehicle.

The impact threw him off his bike under the wheel of the truck. Kozera was still breathing when he was transferred to the Reading Hospital. Although he had donned his helmet, his injuries were so serious that the hospital ruled him dead. Additionally, he was also raising money for cancer research reasons after he won the battle against chronic sickness.
