Coleman was killed in a shooting on July 10, 2022, when he was attacked by three men who attempted to hijack his car while he was simply putting air in his tires at a QuikTrip.

According to a Gwinnett County press release, the incident occurred while he was defending himself against a group of people who allegedly attempted to steal his car.
