Barry Sinclair scored 1148 runs for New Zealand in the 21 Tests he played. He scored his runs at an average of 29.43, including three centuries and three half-centuries. His centuries came against South Africa, Pakistan, and England.
The chief executive of the New Zealand Cricket players’ association Heath Mills said that the demise of Barry Sinclair is a piece of sad news for them and they were blessed to have him involved with the NZCPA for several years.

Barry Sinclair Career, What was his profession?
From 1955–1956 until 1970–1971 Sinclair was a player for Wellington. In 1963–1964, he scored his first century against Northern Districts, scoring 102 not out of the team’s 138–5, nearly single-handedly leading Wellington to a five-wicket victory. His greatest first-class score was 148, out of a total of 365 for 7 on an opening day, when captaining Wellington against the Australians in 1966–1967.
Sinclair never played in a winning Test team, but he did score three of his six first-class centuries there. In addition to the four-match series against the visiting Australian side in 1966–67 and the brief tour to Australia in 1967–68, he led New Zealand in three Tests (the Second and Third Tests against England in 1965–66 and the First Test against India in 1967–68). In order to focus on his work, he ended his career in international cricket in 1968.
His greatest Test score was 138 against South Africa in Auckland in 1963–1964; the team’s total was only 263, and he got the score in 345 minutes.
After scoring 130 in the first innings of a Test match against Pakistan in Lahore in 1964–1955, he claimed two wickets in ten overs.
In 2010 he was made the inaugural patron of the New Zealand Cricket Players’ Association. In 2015 he was voted a Legend of Wellington Sport.
Sinclair was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to cricket, In the 2016 Queen’s Birthday Honours.
