A court heard today that a former Watford footballer, Ashley Charles s*xually assaulted a lady as his Love Island contestant friend slept in the same hotel room.
Ashley Charles, 23, is accused of assaulting the lady after a night out at luxury London clubs Mahiki, Club Maddox, and Lords London.

After spending the evening out at posh clubs in London including Mahiki, Club Maddox, and Lords London, Ashley Charles, 23, is accused of attacking the lady.
According to reports, Charles had been messaging him and went back to her hotel room with fellow players Michael Philips and Dennon Lewis, who both appeared on season five of Love Island.
In contrast to Lewis, who was in bed with the lady’s companion, Philips was reportedly sitting with the woman on the sofa.
According to the Evening Standard, Charles was dozing off on the floor.
The woman allegedly woke up to find Charles on top of her after having consensual inappropriate acts with Philips before he departed early the next morning.
Jurors were informed that she yelled at him to get off her and that this woke Lewis and her friend.
Police were called by the friend of the alleged victim, who showed up at the hotel to interview Charles.
Lewis said in court that Charles, a former Wealdstone FC player, and the woman were “upset” and needed to talk.
“Obviously, it’s a terrible issue to cope with; it’s a very difficult one,” he noted.
