El Paso Deputy officer Andrew Peery was shot in the line of duty, claiming his life. Police are still searching for the shooter, who is still missing at large. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office reported their deputy was killed during a crossfire.

The units have responded to the reported shooting around Ponderosa Drive and Grand Boulevard. Unfortunately, the officials also got involved in the shootout, killing officer Peery.

The El Paso County Sheriff, deputy police officer Andrew Peery was involved in a shooting. But unfortunately, he died in the line of duty after being shot early Sunday evening. The EPSO statement provided the saddening news.

The officials announced the death of the officer at 8:07 pm via Twitter. He was around Ponderosa Drive and Grand Boulevard, where the shooting happened. Police had asked the area residents to stay away from the windows as law enforcement was working on the active scene. According to Fox 31, the situation began at 5.33 pm.

He had responded to the shooting in Widefield. Unfortunately, the 39-year-old deputy Andrew got shot during the crossfire, which some neighbors witnessed.

The County Sheriff’s office has gone on to identify the man involved in the shooting as 33-year-old John Paz, who is considered armed and dangerous. Police have identified him as the shooter and killer of their deputy. He is still at large as police are still searching for him.

As per EPCAN neighbor saw the man had come to his estranged wife’s house and started firing the gun. While police arrived at the scene and tried to engage with Paz, he then shot deputy Andrew Peery killing him.
