He was born on April 19, 1989, in Harbin, China, and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Liu is best known for his role as Shang-Chi in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” released in 2021.

Before his breakthrough role in the MCU, Simu Liu gained recognition for his role as Jung Kim in the Canadian television sitcom “Kim’s Convenience,” which aired from 2016 to 2021. His performance in the series earned him a significant fan base and critical acclaim.
