Girls Bodies found in the south Florida canal: Police are investigating claims that the mother of two young girls discovered dead in a South Florida canal the day before was offering to baptize others in the canal.
Daysha Hogan, 7, and Destiny Hogan, 9, were recognized as the sisters by Lauderhill police on Wednesday. Tinessa Hogan, the children’ mother, was recognized as a probable person of interest by investigators.
She has been arrested, but no criminal charges have been brought against her.

The corpse of the first girl, Destiny, who was subsequently identified as 9 years old, was discovered outside a condominium complex in Lauderhill, near Fort Lauderdale, shortly after 12 p.m. Tuesday.
Daysha, a 7-year-old girl, was discovered shortly before 9 p.m., not far from where the first corpse was discovered.
